Memorandum of Understanding

On 12 March 2026, The Council of EU Chambers of Commerce in India hosted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between College of Law (Latvia) and Sigma University (Vadodara, India), marking an important step in strengthening academic cooperation between the European Union and India.

The Memorandum was signed by Intra Lūce, Director (College of Law) and Dr. Priyesh Gandhi, Vice Chancellor (Sigma University) reflecting the shared commitment of both institutions to promoting knowledge exchange, international cooperation, and further development in the fields of education and research. This agreement opens new opportunities for students, academic staff, and institutional collaboration, strengthening international partnership and fostering joint development in higher education.

Education Summit held at the Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, brought together distinguished leaders from diplomacy, government, academia and industry to discuss the future of EU-India education and talent ecosystems. The summit was graced by Chief Guest H.E. Dr. Robert Zischg, Austrian Ambassador to India, along with Guests of Honour Shri Anandrao V. Patil, IAS, Additional Secretary Higher Education (Ministry of Education Government of India), and Mr. Erik af Hällström, Consul General of Finland in Mumbai.

Panel Discusion 2, Leadership Perspectives

– The Role of Diplomats, Universities, Industries and Government in Shaping the Future.

– The session focused on the collective responsibility in shaping EU–India talent flows and strengthening long-term education partnerships.

Panelists included: Ms. Intra Lūce, Director, College of Law (Riga, Latvia), Mr. Apoorv Mahendru, Deputy Director, DAAD Regional Office (New Delhi), Mr. Albert W.D`Souza, Chairman, St. John College of Engineering & Management.

The event served as a powerful platform to strengthen EU–India collaboration in education, innovation and global talent development.
