From 4 to 8 May 2026, the 7th International Erasmus Staff Week, titled “Voices of Erasmus+: Telling Our Stories,” took place at Alanya University. The event was dedicated to sharing participants’ Erasmus experiences, including learning experiences and innovative practices within Erasmus+. Through engaging discussions, practical exchange of experience, and cultural activities, participants strengthened cooperation and contributed to building a more inclusive international environment.

Participants discussed the following topics:

– From Comfort Zone to Growth Zone;<
– One Week, One Change: Stories That Shaped Us;
– Unique Approaches to Staff Training;
– Inspiring STA/STT Experiences;
– What We Didn’t Plan, but Achieved;
– STA/STT Abroad: Experiencing Worth and Cultures;
– Seeds of Collaboration: How One Visit Sparked a Project;
– From Curiosity to Connection: My Erasmus+ Turning Point.

Participants also discovered Alanya’s cultural and natural treasures. In addition to the sessions, they enjoyed a specially prepared cultural programme, including a traditional Turkish breakfast, local cuisine, and the warm hospitality of the Turkish Riviera.

Turkey 2026 (Aksaray)

College teaching staff team are participating from 4 to 8 May 2026 in the 6th International Staff Week organized by Aksaray University, located in the charming Cappadocia region of Turkey, on the theme “Artificial Intelligence in Higher Education”.

The main aim of the programme is to promote the exchange of work experience, internationalize current practices, and create opportunities for cooperation with partners.

Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau

Students of the College of Law visited the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau on April 28 as part of the study course “System of Law Enforcement Institutions.”

The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau is the leading anti-corruption agency in Latvia. The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau is a direct administration body that performs the functions prescribed in the Law on Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau, in the field of the prevention and combating of corruption. The Bureau also supervises compliance with the rules for financing political organisations (parties) and their associations, and monitors how the restrictions set for pre-election campaigns, pre-referendum campaigns, law proposal campaigns, and campaigns for initiating the dissolution of the Parliament are complied with.

The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau is under the supervision of the Cabinet of Ministers. The Cabinet of Ministers exercises institutional oversight through the Prime Minister. In its activities, the Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau observes the rights and obligations established in the Law on Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau and other laws and regulations.

The Corruption Prevention and Combating Bureau began its activities in 10 October 2002, when the Parliament appointed the first head of the Bureau.

International Science Week 2026

International Science Week 2026

We invite students and lecturers of the College of Law, our partner universities, as well as students from other Latvian colleges and all interested individuals to participate in activities and events of International Science Week (20 April 2026 – 25 April 2026)!

As part of the event, an international scientific conference is planned. There will be discussions and excursions, students will have guest lectures, and at the end – of course, the traditional bowling tournament.

Memorandum of Understanding

On 12 March 2026, The Council of EU Chambers of Commerce in India hosted the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between College of Law (Latvia) and Sigma University (Vadodara, India), marking an important step in strengthening academic cooperation between the European Union and India.

The Memorandum was signed by Intra Lūce, Director (College of Law) and Dr. Priyesh Gandhi, Vice Chancellor (Sigma University) reflecting the shared commitment of both institutions to promoting knowledge exchange, international cooperation, and further development in the fields of education and research. This agreement opens new opportunities for students, academic staff, and institutional collaboration, strengthening international partnership and fostering joint development in higher education.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 6𝐭𝐡 𝐄𝐔–𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐮𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐭 2026

Education Summit held at the Taj Mahal Palace Mumbai, brought together distinguished leaders from diplomacy, government, academia and industry to discuss the future of EU-India education and talent ecosystems. The summit was graced by Chief Guest H.E. Dr. Robert Zischg, Austrian Ambassador to India, along with Guests of Honour Shri Anandrao V. Patil, IAS, Additional Secretary Higher Education (Ministry of Education Government of India), and Mr. Erik af Hällström, Consul General of Finland in Mumbai.

Panel Discusion 2, Leadership Perspectives

– The Role of Diplomats, Universities, Industries and Government in Shaping the Future.

– The session focused on the collective responsibility in shaping EU–India talent flows and strengthening long-term education partnerships.

Panelists included: Ms. Intra Lūce, Director, College of Law (Riga, Latvia), Mr. Apoorv Mahendru, Deputy Director, DAAD Regional Office (New Delhi), Mr. Albert W.D`Souza, Chairman, St. John College of Engineering & Management.

The event served as a powerful platform to strengthen EU–India collaboration in education, innovation and global talent development.

2026 BIP for students

We are pleased to invite students from universities and colleges abroad to the ERASMUS+ Blended Intensive Programme “Stress and Emotion Management” at the College of Law (Juridiskā koledža). We organize this week as a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) mobility project. BIP ID: 2024-1-LV01_KA131_HED-000210710-2.

International event for students will take place:

– from 18 May until 22 May, 2026 on- site, at the College of Law (Juridiskā koledža) in Riga (face– to–face);

– the online meeting – 26 May, 2026.

ECTS awarded: 3 credits.

The aim of this ERASMUS+ Blended Intensive Programme is to promote the idea of internationalization, increase student mobility, and take part in various activities and tours together, such as visiting the beautiful Old Town of Riga, museum Riga Art Nouveau Centre, LIDO Leisure Centre, compete in orienteering event “Old Town Mission. Discover the Old Town through the lens of a camera”, etc.

The language of training is English. There is no registration fee.

Participants are responsible for covering their own accommodation, living and travel costs. They are expected to get the Erasmus+ Mobility grant from their home Institution.
